uMist

Yo....

To those people that have breathing problem... or dry throat.... or sinus.... Let me recommend this product to you... uMist by OSIM.

After using uMist, my hubby didn't have dry throat... my baby didn't have blocked nose and basically the room is not as dry even if we turned on the air conditioner the whole night. It's worth buying...

Working @ Attributes Marketing Sdn Bhd

Sounds like working in some marketing company ey? Actually it's not. Attributes Marketing is the bookstore owned by my church. I was transfered from Culture to Attributes in Sept. Just 1 word to describe my current job... BUSY!

For the first time in my life, I didn't have time to check facebook, or chit chat in MSN, or twitter... I just didn't have time to even think about it...

I still have a lot of things to learn... Well, so far so good.

I'm also the wedding coordinator for the church. There are many weddings coming up from Sept all the way til January next year. Many more to come, I believe. :) Marriage is a beautiful thing... One of the best things that can ever happen in some people's lives (like mine).

Will update about Keira soon....... (btw she is getting cheekier... and today she hit me!!!!!!!)

Keira's Car Seat

Keira is considered quite tall for a 9 month chinese baby girl :D, she could hardly fit into her infant car seat which is supposed to last til she is 1 year old.

We went to so many places to find a nice affordable and good car seat for her. After searching for weeks, we finally decided on buying "The First Years".

It's a very comfortable car seat I think. I read many good reviews about this product. The original price is RM999, but we bought at discounted price RM799.90. :) One outstanding feature about the car seat is it is easy to take off for washing. And the only thing that I dont quite like is the color. We wanted a pure black one, but they didn't have one.

We bought the car seat at the right timing... cos we are driving back to JB tomorrow!!! I'm so excited to meet up with the other children and my mother in law. Not many people miss their mother in law one ler? Hahaha... Even though she doesn't have much expression and she didn't talk a lot... but she is a very nice person. And whenever there's anything I'm not sure about babycare, I will give her a call.

And end of next month, Keira's auntie, poh-poh, gong-gong, jiu-jiu... all wil come and see her :) and the following week (end of Nov) Keira will turn 1 year old!!!!!!!!! TIME FLIESSSSSSS............

I love love love love to be Keira's mommy...

More Like a Mommie Now...

I woke up at 7am to go to the wet market with Rina this morning. The last time I went was when I was 9 months pregnant. And now Keira is already 9 months. :P

I have a weekly meal planner now, guess why? Because I'll start working in Subang, a place where I'm very familiar with, therefore... I know where to find all kinds of food. So, I make a decision to stick to what I've planned (or at least something close to what I planned :P). Furthermore, I really think as a good wife, I should try cook healthier food for my hubby (at least on the weekend). And I'm gonna try more variety in cooking Keira's food too.

So far, Keira loves to eat porridge. Usually I add chicken or beef + carrot or sweet potato or pumpkin + spinach or brocolli. The smell of beef porridge is the best!!! it smells so yummy. This weekend I'll try fish + carrot or pumpkin. Oh ya, she likes egg yolks too! One of her fav food! Probably I'll try to cook her barley in few weeks time, or oatmeals should be good too! =D

Life of a mom is fun and exciting! Love it to the max!

When I Have to Bring Her to Work

Sometimes I have no other option but to bring Keira to work with me! Out of 8 hours in the store, I think I could really work for only 2 hrs. Few things that I did:

Bribe her with food... I know this is not recommended by the experts. But but... how?
When she was bored with her own toys, I would give her whatever I had to distract her... (would keep an eye to supervise her though)
more food would give me few more mins of silence...
hush.... sleep my baby... so that mommie could focus on work...
i forgot to take the pics while other staff were playing with her...

When closing the store, I had to carry her together with the walker/stroller/car-seat to the car... then carried her back to the store to get the rest of the stuff... and then locked the door and "shutter" while carrying her. For one moment, I thought I was quite a supermom!

Love, Hug, Kiss...

When She is Quiet, This is What I Mean...

As mentioned earlier, when eating... sometimes Keira is very "guai" and didn't move much... but she still looks busy... as always....

Macam Macam

You know... when someone has lots of patterns, or expressions, we like to say "macam macam ah you..."
Haha... that's what I always tell Keira... "baby.. you macam macam ar..."
As she is growing, she has more and more expressions. I didn't manage to capture most of them (and i accidentally deleted one more pic)... but here's some of the remaining...

And even when she is eating, she has so many sitting posture, standing posture, and sometimes she would just be contented & happy enjoying the food and din move much :)

I scolded her for trying to stand while eating (but it's actually my fault, why didn't I fasten the seat belt at the first place?) so.... after getting scolded, she would show me how unhappy and sad she is...

Can't imagine when she starts talking, she will surely be a super duper kepoh and bubbly baby.

Oh ya before I end this blog...
Daddy bought a vest with hoodie, a tee shirt (din let her wear here) and a denim skirt for her :) she looks so cute on them...the vest is a lil bit too big though... *giggle*

I missed the timing (when she was smiling and ready for camera), this is when she started to get impatient...

Many Things Have Happened

Many good and bad things have happened throughtout this week.

The good thing is Keira has totally recovered *YAY* and we just gave her influenza vaccination today. She is quite tall, 71cm now. But her weight has been around 7.5kg, today she is 7.4kg. But the doctor said it's very good, nothing to worry about. Ideal weight. Another thing that really makes my day is what the doctor has been saying everytime we see him. Keira's social skill is very very good (above average). He was so surprised when Keira called Papa just now, and the fact that she can wave bye-bye pleased the doctor too.

Keira didn't cry during the jab. She showed her dislike-expression of course, but right after the jab, she smiled, babbled, played.. she was just happy! :)

Another good thing is, I'm changing job on September. Not that I don't like my job now, but the other job allows me to do more things. I'm quite restricted now, due to the work location. I'm excited about what I can do in the future. The fact that I can lead CG, have Bible study, involve more in ministry, fetch Keira earlier ;) and also be in the same office as my hubby hehehe...

The bad thing that happened ler... *sigh* it is kinda sad to see people that I love drawing back from serving God. It bothered me so much, but nothing much I can do. I tried my best. But it makes me realize that there are still sooo many people that I need to take care, it's a lesson learned.

End of this year I'll be travelling to Taiwan. Did you see any news lately? The typhoon and mudslides convince me that I shouldn't bring Keira with me. So she will either be with my MIL, Auntie Linda or my mom. After that I'll go to Korea, again won't be bringing her. Have important meetings over there. Then end of Jan we will have staff retreat to Hanoi. This trip baby will come along. *Yippie*

Eeeee.... Daddy's First Time....

Daddy has no choice but to clean and change my nappy after I poo poo...

:D

Books for The Next 2-3 Months

As you guys have read, Keira has not been so well these few weeks, so instead of just reading thru the internet, I bought a book by Dr.Miriam Stoppard. I bought one babycare book by the same author when I was pregnant, and it was quite good.
Actually there's one more book, which is very thick, by the same author, also about childhood illnesses and the treatment, but that one costs too much. So I bought this one, only RM33.95.

Besides, I also bought a book by my favourite author, Dale Carnegie. RM31.90 only.

Hopefully it's as good as the other one that I bought... "How to Win Friends & Influence Them"

It's time to enhance my parenting skills again :) Bought this fabulous copy... Sold more than 3,500,000 and it has been one of the best selling book for 20 years. I'm expecting a lot from this book... RM45.50.

Keira Loves Daddy

Keira had a high fever last night, hm no.. it's not last night, it's at 5am this morning. But thank God the fever was gone few hours after we gave her med. Auntie Linda said she is teething again.

At ard 7:30am she wanted me to move her to my bed, so she slept beside me. At around 8+, she suddenly climbed over my face, yes she was crawling across to her daddy's side and stepped on my face!!!!!!! while I was sleeping!!!!!! I thought she was ready to play, but when i turned around, she just wanted to lean on daddy's back to sleep, she was sharing one pillow with daddy and continued to sleep soundly. :)

Yoghurt When Having Cough?

Keira has been coughing for at least 3 weeks now. It's not a severe one, but it's a lil phlegmy. I told Jilly that Keira's immune system is considered weak, cos she has had cough and flu for... maybe 3-4 times in 8 months? Jilly recommended yoghurt, cos it plays an important role in nutrition.

(Important: do not give strawberry & kiwi to babies)

After doing much research whether I should give her now or after she recovers from her cough, I've decided to try it now.

Few moms have blog about how their children get better after consuming yoghurt, a few others stated that it's not good cos yoghurt will thicken the phlegm. But milk will also give the same effect, takkan I stop giving her milk right?

So I went to JUSCO to buy organic yoghurt, bananas, and sweet potato (and oh I also bought a light dessert for my hubby who needs to work til late tonite *wink*). And I just read that sweet potato is full of vitamin C and yoghurt is full of zinc, which are both good for health. *yay*

Anyway, I'll let you know if this works!

Keira @ 8 Months

Keira sleeps at around 10pm, wakes up between 2am-4am for a 5-oz milk, then sleeps again until around 7am, she will then wake up, smile, talk a lil bit, ask me to carry... after that falls back asleep beside me (or when I carry her) until 8+ or 9 sometimes.

We send her to Auntie Linda's house around 10am, she will whine a lil bit cos she doesnt want to be separated from mommy n daddy. I pick her up around 7:30-8:30pm (what a loooong hour of separation), we go home... clean up and play until 10pm!

That's what we do from Tues to Fri, the days when I'm working!

Keira's New Toy

We were invited to Dylan' birthday party last Satur. Dylan's mommy, Yen Fen, being a very nice and kind friend, let Keira play with Dylan's toys in his room!

And both Keith and I realized that Keira doesn't have much toys! Haha... all these while we thought she had enough... but seeing my lil baby enjoying Dylan's toys, both Keith's and my heart melted, so we decided to buy her another toy.

We went to Parkson, and checked what she liked! We passed to her Barney, Elmo, Mickey Mouse, toy laptops (cos she likes my laptop so much) and some other cute toys... she didn't seem interested until she saw...

She gets excited when playing it at home...

Instead of playing it with the mallet, she used her hands to hit the xylophone...

Never Leave Your Child In The Car For Goodness Sake!!!

Car thief takes off with kids inside

2009/07/14
New Straits Times

MALACCA: Leaving his two children in his Toyota Camry with its engine still running proved to be a costly mistake for a businessman.
A man got behind the wheel and drove away with them. And for almost one hour, the businessman, in his 30s, could only pray for the safety of his 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter.

The businessman, identified only as Khoo, had gone to see his new house in Taman Muzaffar Shah in Ayer Keroh with his three children at about 6pm on Sunday.

According to police, Khoo, who is from Ayer Keroh Heights, reached his new house and noticed that his two younger children were sleeping.

"He left the car engine running and took his other child to inspect the renovation works being carried out on his house.

"While in the house, Khoo heard his car being driven away. He tried to give chase on foot but the suspect sped off with the two children sound asleep in the back seat.

An hour later, Khoo received an anonymous call informing him that his children had been found in a housing estate in Seremban.

"Khoo and his family members then rushed to Seremban and were reunited with his children about 8pm.

"The children looked calm and were not crying when they were found," said the police spokesman, adding that the thief had fled with the car.

Keira's New Buddy

She stared at him at first....

stunned..... didn't say anything...

as he played and showed her some expressions, she smiled...

Looked at me... smiled to me...

looked at him again...

started to pat him a bit...

talked to him using her own language...

grabbed his nose...

smiled...

when he went towards the TV, Keira followed him...

he sat down and watched TV...

Keira stayed beside him...

after a while, she asked him to carry her...

Buddies they have become...

But because Keira is too restless and ke-poh, in less than 10mins the buddy had to return her to her mommie...

My Smart Baby

It's so fun to see little Keira learn things... And she learns fast too...
See how she tried to put the bottle cover back...
